F.A.Q.
These are answers to some of our common questions. If you need further help or have more questions please feel free to contact PCR, we’re glad to answer any questions you might have.
How long does the restoration process last?
On average you’re usually looking at six months before actual work is started and one year to get the fire restoration project to come full circle.
What should I do after a fire?
The first thing you should do after a fire is to contact your insurance company to obtain authorization to secure the property. Insurance companies want you to do whatever is necessary to prevent further damages to the contents inside your property.
Will my personal items be protected?
Yes, PCR will come out and board up the property cover with tarps, whatever needs to be done to secure the property. We build a temporary entry door with a lock box on it. The same type used by real estate companies.
Can I live in my house during the restoration process?
This depends on the extent of the fire damage, but in most cases it’s advised to not to stay in the house, due to respiratory issues that can occur and other hazards that can cause injury to yourself and/or family. Most insurance companies will pay for temporary housing for you and your family.
Can I make upgrades during the restoration process?
Yes, however there is additional cost that will accompany any upgrade that cost more than the original quote.
